The owners of Avli Taverna in Lincoln Park leased the building at the corner of Wells and Huron Streets in Chicago's River North neighborhood to create a dining experience reminiscent of the outdoor eateries of Santorini in the Greek Islands. The addition of a 3-story staircase on the south side of the building created ample space for a full bar and seating area on the first floor, as well as an expanded seating / private event space on the second floor. The outdoor patio was completed in the spring of 2020, adding enclosable dining space with a heated slab, allowing year-round use.
